Professional Learning Course Terms & Conditions
In respect of these Terms and Conditions, "the University" and ANU refer to the Australian National University, and "you" refers to the enrolee.
By enrolling in a professional learning short course, you are agreeing that you:
- have read, understood and will comply with these Terms and Conditions
- have determined that the course is suitable for you by reading the details provided on the webpage
- upon enrolment will abide by the applicable standards of conduct, regulations and policies of the University, including the ANU code of practice for teaching and learning https://policies.anu.edu.au/ppl/document/ANUP_000726

- have read and understand your rights and responsibilities set out in the ANU procedure on student intellectual property https://policies.anu.edu.au/ppl/document/ANUP_003604
Not an ANU student
You will not be an ANU student as a result of enrolling and participating in a professional learning course. Among other things, this means you will not be supplied with an ANU email address for communications with ANU and you will not be entitled to access any benefits provided to ANU students. You will, however, be required to comply with all applicable ANU policies and procedures.
Eligibility
- Employees of corporate members of the National Regulators Community of Practice (NRCoP) are eligible to enrol in this professional learning course at the discounted rate.
- Employees of government or non-government regulators or independent regulatory boards that are not corporate members of NRCoP are eligible to enrol in this professional learning course at the full rate.
- Eligibility of employees from other organisations to enrol in the professional learning course is at the discretion of the provider.
- Any professional learning course participant or organisation that has been found to have breached these Terms & Conditions may not be eligible to re-enrol in the professional learning course.
Personal and Professional Behaviour
- Participation in the course is solely for the purpose of professional learning and not for undertaking any form of commercial activity.
- Participants in the professional learning course may share information based on their professional experience or from their place of work. Any information shared by participants of the professional learning course is for the sole purpose of enhancing the learning experience for themselves and other participants and must not be used by participants for any other purpose or external to the professional learning course in which it has been shared.
- A person who obtains information because they are a participant in a professional learning course must not improperly use the information to gain an advantage for themselves, any other person or for any organisation.
Use of Information
- All professional learning course materials and resources are the Intellectual Property of The Professional Regulator, are owned by ANU and ANZSOG and are provided solely for the purpose of professional learning.
- All Intellectual Property contained in the professional learning course materials and resources is protected and is not to be used by any professional learning course participant or organisation for any other activity.
Conflicts of Interest
- Any participant in this professional learning course that has an actual, perceived or potential conflict of interest must disclose this conflict to the provider as soon as they become aware of the conflict.
- Upon notification of any actual, perceived or potential conflict of interest the provider will determine any necessary action to be taken to satisfactorily resolve the conflict.
- Where any actual, perceived or potential conflict of interest can not be satisfactorily resolved this may result in termination of enrolment in the professional learning course.
Enrolment
- Professional learning courses are designed for adults. Enrolees must be at least 18 years of age at the time of enrolment.
- Applicants are responsible to ensure they have the assumed knowledge specified when enrolling.
- Course enrolment is valid for a period of 12 months.
- For pre-purchase or bulk enrolments paid by for by agencies, these are valid for 12 months from the date each participant commences Module One.
- For prepurchase or bulk enrolments paid for by agencies, each participant must commence Module one within 12 months of the pre-purchase being made by the agency.
- Online sessions may be recorded and used as educational material. These recordings are NOT used for marketing purposes and are not publicly available.
- Places in professional learning courses will be allocated in order of enrolment or by application in cases where selection criteria apply.
- Acceptance of enrolment in a professional learning course is at the absolute discretion of the ANU.
- The University reserve the right to vary an enrolment. Decisions to vary an enrolment are at the absolute discretion of the ANU.
- Enrolees have only "public access" to ANU library services. (more information on library access here - https://anulib.anu.edu.au/services/public)
Payment
- Payment is required in full at time of enrolment.
- Discounts must be applied at the point of registration. Discounts will not be processed retrospectively.
- Payment may be made by Mastercard, Visa or by requesting an invoice at the time of enrolment.
- Subsequent booking options (for add-on components) may be applied during a course and must be paid for at the time of selecting such option/s.
Cancellation and Refunds
- Courses are run subject to minimum enrolment numbers being met.
- A minimum of 5 (five) business days' notice will be given if a course is to be cancelled.
- If enrolment is cancelled by you up to 10 (ten) business days prior to commencement of Module One, a full refund will be provided.
- Refunds will be less the amount of any credit card fees applied at check-out.
- Please choose carefully, as we do not offer a refund if you change your mind or find yourself unable to attend after this time period.
- If you are unable to complete the course, in exceptional circumstances (including severe ill-health or on compassionate grounds), you can apply to withdraw with full refund with relevant documentation. The application must be made prior to course end date.
- Application to withdraw from a course with a refund must be made in writing by emailing [email protected]
- If the University is not able to offer an advertised course after you have enrolled and paid, you will receive a full refund.
- For pre-purchase or bulk enrolments paid by for by agencies, these can be transferred from one participant to another participant provided Module One has not been commenced.
Termination of Enrolment
- Any professional learning course participant or organisation found to have breached these Term & Conditions may have their enrolment in the professional learning course terminated.
- Where an enrolment has been terminated due to breach of the Terms & Conditions a refund will not be provided.
Completion
Upon satisfactory completion of a course A Digital Badge of completion will be issued.
Privacy Statement
Use and Disclosure of Your Personal Information:
The personal Information of participants in the professional learning course should not be used for undertaking any form of commercial activity.
We may use and disclose your Personal Information only as follows:
- To send you informational and promotional content relevant to your relationship with the ANU. You can stop receiving our promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in every email.
- To bill and collect money owed to us. This includes sending you emails, invoices, receipts, notices of arrears, and alerting you if we need a different credit card number.
- To send you Alert Messages. For example, we may need to let you know about late changes to class schedules, venues or tutor allocations.
- To provide customer support.
- To inform emergency services. For example, in the case of a medical emergency. Or if you should you break the law, resulting in violation of the rights and safety of our customers and third parties, as well as our own staff and students.
- To support and improve the Services we offer.
- In accordance with, and for the purposes set out in, the ANU privacy policy
Please Note: If your enrolment has been purchased by your employer on your behalf, we may provide your employer with updates on your course progress on request.
